The municipality of Maastricht invites you to an evening dedicated to exploring the city’s cultural fringe. On Wednesday 17 September 2025, you’ll have the chance to discuss the future of these vibrant spaces and initiatives.

Maastricht’s cultural fringe is bold, a little notorious, ever-changing and full of energy. These are the places and projects that bring the city to life. But how do we keep it that way? And how can we ensure there’s space and freedom for all kinds of culture in the future?

This gathering is about sharing ideas and seeking solutions together. Whether you’re a maker, thinker, dreamer, venue owner, visitor or civil servant – your perspective is welcome. Everyone can take part and share their views.

Frénk van der Linden will host the evening. The event will be held in Dutch, but contributions in English are welcome and will be responded to in English. Music will be provided by Sjeng, Sjer en de Sjele. A photographer will be present – if you prefer not to be photographed, please let us know upon arrival.
