Welcome Home!
125,000 – that’s how many people call Maastricht home. Not all of them were born here – many have come from other cities or countries.
A great life
We asked people on the street what they need to live well. Their answers? Meeting others. Looking out for each other. Staying healthy. Going for walks or bike rides, enjoying good food, playing bingo or boules, dancing, gardening and keeping active together.
In this magazine you’ll get to know some of your fellow Maastricht residents. They share who they are, where they live, and what they enjoy doing.
You’ll also find ideas for meeting new people, staying active or picking up a new hobby. At the back of the magazine, there’s a list of places in each part of the city where you can go for a chat or an activity, a cup of coffee or an affordable meal. We call it the Sociale Kaart Maastricht (Maastricht Social Map).
I hope there’s something in here for you. Because it matters to all of us that Maastricht is a city where people know and help each other.
Happy reading!
