A warm welcome
Foreword
Winter can sometimes feel endless. Carnival is behind us, and when it’s raining or freezing, there’s not much happening outside. Meeting new people can be even harder at times like these.
And yet, there is still plenty for everyone to do in Maastricht. Whether it’s picking out a good book in the Boekenkelder, joining a life drawing session with people of all ages, or enjoying lunch at the Tapijnkazerne where refugees cook dishes from their home countries.
In this magazine, we’ll show you what else is being organised in our city. Fellow residents of Maastricht share who they are, where they live and what they enjoy doing. Perhaps it will give you some ideas for a new hobby.
At the back of the magazine, you’ll once again find a list of places in each part of the city where you can go for a chat or an activity, a cup of coffee or an affordable meal. We call it the Sociale Kaart Maastricht (Maastricht Social Map).
I hope there’s something in here for you. Because it’s important for all of us that Maastricht is a city where people feel connected. A city where we meet and support one another.
Enjoy the read – and don’t forget to vote on 18 March!
