1014. Storytelling benches – Sharing stories in the district

With the Storytelling Benches, the Together for Maastricht Foundation wants to bring residents’ stories to life. During the Week of Encounters in September 2026, meet-ups in four districts will be transformed into short performances. Theaterwerkplaats (theatre workshop) Maastricht will help develop stories using music and props from the neighbourhood. The project doesn’t just bring art closer to the people, encouraging them to open up about loneliness and poverty, it will also reinforce social cohesion in districts.
