Natural gas-free Boschstraatkwartier

In Boschstraatkwartier, we are working with residents and businesses to explore how we can make the neighborhood fossil-fuel-free in a feasible and affordable way. On this page, you can read more about developments and upcoming activities in the neighborhood.  

Why Boschstraatkwartier?  

As a municipality, we are committed to making all homes in Maastricht fossil-fuel-free by 2050. We are exploring all possibilities for phasing out natural gas in each neighborhood. Every neighborhood has different characteristics and opportunities. Boschstraatkwartier is not the only neighborhood where we have started our exploration. This is also happening in a number of other places. 

Event: Fossil-fuel-free Boschstraatkwartier – 4 March 

We invite you, as a homeowner, tenant, or entrepreneur, to this informative and inspiring gathering. During this evening, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share your ideas, and meet your neighbors.

  • English session: 4:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. 
  • Dutch session: 7:30 p.m. – 9:15 p.m.Locatie: Lumière-Bar, Bassin 88 

Why not start today? 

You can start today with simple measures that deliver immediate benefits, such as insulation. This saves a lot of energy, especially in homes built before 1992. Homes built after 1992 are often already sufficiently insulated.
